for a friend

I remember the days we felt alive. The music was loud and we were singing along. The best of friends then and the best of friends we’ll always be in those memories. No matter how far we’ve drifted apart and whatever the fall outs were, those memories still exist and they’re still cherished. In that way, we’re all still friends forever, because of the memories. You don’t have to live in the present every minute of every day. Memories can make you smile just as much as the present and they can make you smile when it’s impossible to do so in the present. “Don’t live in the past” is a negative statement telling you to let go of things. But we’re all alive in the past just as much as we’re alive now.

And for those who have gone to a better place and left us here without them, they’re alive in the past because they lived then. That’s the purpose of memories… to remember what we no longer have and smile.

No one uses the word “memories” for anything negative. Remember a time when you were smiling so wide your mouth hurt and a time when you were laughing so hard you cried. Tell me you didn’t smile.

A zillion pics of my new apartment (and my cat) that I am so very excited about, especially now that I've finished packing. I'm still working on it here and there but this is the general picture.

Front porch/balcony type deal with my storage closet.

Front door, coat closet. Boring.

Living room.

Dining room.

Kitchen. Washer/Dryer behind the door there.

Hallway. Framed vinyls. The collection of pictures of me (and my dad) is something my grandma made me for my birthday a couple years ago and that's me and my sisters when we were little next to it. And the five pictures at the end are just things I took.

Computer room. I have too many CDs. Those are just the ones actually in their cases, there's another 500 in a CD book.

Bathroom.

Hanging on the wall in the hall outside of my bedroom door.
Name: Alexandra
Date: 2/14/2009
Colorgenics Number: 15324706

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You have always longed for tenderness, love and a sensitivity of feeling into which you would like to blend. You are a very gentle warm person and responsive to 'All things bright and beautiful'. This personifies a caring person, a person who 'needs' and indeed 'needs to be needed'.

You are a leader in every sense of the word. You know where you are going and you know what you need to do in order to get there. You exercise an inherent initiative in overcoming obstacles and difficulties. You either hold, or wish to achieve, a position of authority by means of which full control can be exerted over events.

Matters are not progressing as well as you would have hoped and you are having to make concessions - but you still believe that your goals are realistic it's just that people can't seem to see your point of view. You know what you want but you'll only accept suggestions under duress.

You are holding back. You need to find friends in whom you can trust and once they have proved themselves beyond all possible doubt you will be prepared to give them your all. The existing situation is not of your liking - you have an unsatisfied need for mental stimulation with others whose standards are as high as your own. Trying to control your instincts the way you do restricts your ability to open up to others and the way you feel at this time is suggestive of 'total surrender'. This is not to your liking as you consider such thoughts as weaknesses that need to be overcome. You feel that only by control, controlling your innermost thoughts, are you able to maintain your air of superiority. You want to be admired for yourself alone and not for what you can do or for what you may have done. In essence 'you need to be needed' and at the same time 'you need to need'.

You would like to be respected and valued for yourself and this can only be achieved from within a close and harmonious relationship.

PERSONAL SIDE NOTE: Whoa... That's freaky.

http://www.goldinuniverse.com

<lj:music>headfirst slide into cooperstown on a bad bet | fall out boy</lj:music>

Yesterday was the best day ever.

Woke up early as hell on my own and Priscilla woke up to get Britney Spears tickets because, honestly, even if it ends up being a trainwreck, at least we can say we saw the wreck in person. Otherwise, even though I don’t like her it could be very cool and I’ve never seen a 360 degree show like this one is going to be so I’d like to experience that.

After that Priscilla found out from her ex that Petco was taking pictures of your pets with Santa for charity where the proceeds went to homeless animals. We decided to be crazy cat ladies and take our cats to meet Santa and it actually ended up being a lot of fun and it was my cat’s first experience with dogs which she did very well with until a golden lab puppy wanted to try to play with her.

Then we took the cats home and went to the T-Mobile store so Priscilla could talk to them about potentially getting a Blackberry and found out that their Blackberry plans are ridiculous.

We went to this mom and pop pizza place across the shopping plaza that we’d never been to because we were starving and had some of the best pizza I’ve had lately. Not as good as the pizza from the pizza place near Starland Ballroom, but still delicious.

Then we went across the highway to the AT&T store and I immediately said I wanted an iPhone and I didn’t care about cancellation charges with T-Mobile. The girl said I was her easiest sale ever. I was like yep, I’m always easy. Oh puns. The many puns.

Got my Twitter updates to work on my phone finally.

Then Pretty Woman was on. I love Julia Roberts, she reminds me of my mom. Then something else good was on but I forget what it was.

Then it snowed. The first (magical Christmas) snow of the year. I’m still a kid forever.

Then we watched Cruel Intentions.

Then the Fall Out Boy album leaked and it’s really good. Still buying it the 16th and you should, too.

I’m telling you, it was the best day ever.

my bogus journey - 11/13, 11/14,11/15

Okay well pictures may or may not come later. There's only a few good ones. Front row + no flash sometimes does not = good pictures. But as promised, I do have tons of videos and a little bit of a story!

So 11/13, me and my roommate hop in the car and drive the hour and a half down to Philly for the show. We get to the parking lot and get wrongly informed about 18 times that no cameras are allowed so we leave the cameras in the car and go about our way, no big we're seeing them twice from there. The security guys were some of the biggest douchebags in the world and forced the SLH and regular line together into one line saying 'The band themselves asked for this'. Jack comes out later and is like 'uhhh wtf' and does a little magic to get that fixed. Eventually get to go in to the meet and greet. Even though I've met them a bunch of times at this point, for some reason this night I was a little nervous about it and didn't say a whole lot to them except for Bill who I told Winter Passing was a great song and he said thank you and when I asked about the license plate that I had given to Jack/Ziggy to give to them on Warped he was a little confused but said he thought they maybe still had it. Got a pic (on my phone which was lame) with him later on blah blah. Got front row in front of Mike and had a good time.

Got my ticket signed that night (the one on the bottom).

I also got a set list and a guitar pick.

On 11/14/08, me and the roommate hop in the car to haul ass all the way up to Hartford. On the way up there we see a HIGH SPEED CAR CHASE! I see the cop cars way behind me in all four lanes and it looked a little like they were chasing one car so I tell my roommate and she says 'oh come on, that never happens it's probably not'. They seemed to disappear after a while. Ten minutes later or so ALL OF A SUDDEN the cop cars are like RIGHT BEHIND ME and I look over and they ARE following this gold Lexus SUV. I get over to another lane quickly and look over to watch the chase and it the SUV drives into the grass on the side of the highway and we figured he was pulling over and then he KEEPS GOING ACROSS THE WHOLE ENTIRE GRASS MEDIAN THROUGH A DITCH AND UP THE OTHER SIDE INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY!! When he kept driving into the grass without stopping we instantly realized that this was, in fact, a high speed chase. While I was in line for meet and greet my roommate went to get something to eat and saw on the news at the pizza place she went to what happened and apparently the car was stolen four days before and the guy had totaled it into a Pepsi truck on the other side of the highway and then got out and ran on foot and was caught.

So I tell Adam about this as he's signing my license plate that I needed to finish getting signed since only William and Butcher signed it on Warped and he was like "OH MAN IT WOULD HAVE BEEN COOLER IF YOU WERE IN IT THOUGH!" and I agreed, it was fun. Chiz talked to me a little bit about the night before because he always remembers me. Butcher remembered the license plate from Warped and got all excited about it after signing my set list from Philly when Mike like LOST HIS MIND over it. Mike like started laughing and just sat there staring at it for a while and he was like "I can't even... I'm so like... whoa..." stupid hyena laugh. I asked him if he was making fun of me because he just kept laughing! And he was like "No! No, I'm really not this is so cool! I'm just like... blown away like... wow!" And then William looked over and saw it and remembered me asking about it the night before and he got SUPER EXCITED about it and was like "Oh yeah, yeah, yeah! I do remember this one! We definitely do still have this one somewhere! This is the coolest thing ever!" He talked to me for a minute while I told him about the car chase too and he was like "Maybe it was OJ! That's awesome." and asked my name and signed my set list since he'd already signed the plate too.

HARTFORD WAS BY FAR THE BEST SHOW I'VE EVER SEEN THEM PLAY!

The finished license plate.

So then 11/15/08, Sayreville, NJ and it's pretty much hometown show for me. Half hour drive we didn't show up until god knows when and met up with a girl I'd met the night before. I did find toastdskin and talk to her for a while here and there. Gina's very cool ;) The meet and greet I filled Sisky in on the outcome of the end of the car chase and he was still kind of excited about it. I was wearing Snakes & Suits and Chiz felt that he needed to inform me he was wearing his Snakes & Suits shirt under his other shirt, too. I was like 'oh good'. Haha... didn't really know what to say to that. Butcher remembered me again and I had him sign my ticket since he'd signed everything else. Mike smiled at me and seemed to remember me but if Mike remembered what he ate in the morning I'd be surprised so we just talked for a second and I had him sign my set list. Then I get to William and I hand him my Remember Maine CD booklet to sign and I was like "Don't ask me how I got this." He just stares at it and hesitates and is like "Then... Th-then I won't ask you then!" Stuttering mess. And he signed it and just stared at it a while and read all the liner notes and such and told me that he hadn't seen it in forever and he was just looking at it. I asked him if he still had a copy of it and he said no, he didn't think he did and if he did he had no idea where it was. So he held up the line for a few minutes while he just looked over it and I let him have his time with it since I'm sure it meant a lot to him to look at it. It was cool, I said bye and went on my way.

The show was good, I stayed at a table in a chair and had five vodka red bulls throughout the night and got pretty drunk, it was a blasty blast. Seed was played. I got a video. All the videos as promised below!!!

The finished set list from Philly. The Homer was drawn by Sisky.

Remember Maine CD.

You can watch all of these in high quality, I believe.
